Tips For Moving In A Heat Wave

Western Canada is either suffering through or enjoying a heat wave, depending on your perspective. Victoria is right in the heart of it with temperatures in the shade near the ocean at 26 degrees!

We thought you might enjoy a few tips for how to survive moving in a heat wave.

Try To Stay In The Shade

OK. There may not be much you can do about this in reality. Unless you have no budget and can have your entire house covered in a tent. If you can do this, you really should.

Stay Hydrated

We are all for re-usable water bottles, but let’s face it. When it’s this hot you have to get your water in large quantities any way you can. Drink up!

Make Sure Your Pets Are Cool And Comfortable

Dogs, cats, budgies, whatever your pet don’t forget to keep them cool and comfortable. If you have a goldfish in a bowl don’t leave the bowl in a window. That’s a pro tip for free.

Cool Down Your New House

You do not want to show up at your new place to find the windows closed and the sun beating in. Draw the drapes, turn on the air conditioning. Do whatever you have to!

Pack For Your First Night

It’s always a good idea to pack some essentials in a suitcase, duffel bag, or other useful container. Maybe just ice packs and cold drinks though.
